Location Task Force Status - August 2016
The task force who are charged with assessing sites and recommending the final location for the Multiplex, to council, are currently gathering public input as to what are the key priorities for the citizen's of Cambridge.
There have been several opportunities already for the public to provide input. There will be another chance, possibly the last, this week happening at City Hall, 8th September from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. This meeting is quite informal, talk to city staff and councillors, and add your sticky note comments to the displays available ....that's it !!!
The task force has developed a process by which to assess each site based on specific criteria. What they need is input as to what we as the ultimate users, us, view as most to least important. Below is a document outlining this criteria, please check it out then come to the City Hall and let the council know what you think.

Multiplex Meetings August / September 2016
Hi Everyone as you probably know the newly formed task force assembled to make a recommendation to the council on location is hard at work. They have just about six weeks left before presenting their recommendation to council.
There are four very important meetings coming up that will allow you to follow progress and/or provide feedback you feel is important for the council and the task force to hear.
The Multiplex has evoked a lot of passion and emotion both for and against the project. For democracy to truly work, both sides of the debate needs to be heard and considered. This is not a spectator sport, the Multiplex will be our premier facility for a very long time, now is the time to help mold the final product.
Opportunities to attend the Task Force meetings are 11th August and 18th August in the Council Chambers starting at 5:30pm. You can make a presentation but will need to preregister.
There will also be an opportunity to attend two Public Information Centre (PIC's). These sessions will be held :
25th August, from 3:00pm to 7pm at the Hespeler Arena
8th Sept from 3:00pm to 7:00pm Bowman Room, City Hall.
It is my understanding that these centres are drop ins where the public can view proposals and leave written comments.
Its been a long process but the end is in sight so lets not loose interest as we approach the goal line.

Cambridge Sports Multiplex
The Proposed Sports Multiplex continues to evolve as a design based on input and feedback from the community of Cambridge. It is very exciting to think that we will soon have a state of the art facility right here in our own city. Check out this page for the latest status and get involved by providing your thoughts and ideas.
