The Cambridge Kendo club was formed in 2001 and has operated continuously since that time. We are members of the Canadian Kendo Federation and the Ontario Kendo Federation which allows us access to the very best training and seminar opportunities through the Kendo network.
Practices comprise of understanding and mastering basic Japanese sword techniques. Applying that training through the practice of "Keiko". We also emphasize the importance of "Kata" which helps improve timing, balance and a better understanding of "Waza", the techniques used in Kendo.

Mind, Body, Spirit
For anyone who has practiced any Martial Art you will be aware of the need to bring together mind, body spirit.
Arguably the most difficult of these to understand or explain is Spirit or "Ki". I recently found a link that I feel does an excellent job of giving us an incite to this very difficult concept. Recommended reading at : http://www.bestkendo.com/kendoblog/?tag=kendo-ki
Our practices are on Friday Evening at 8:30pm and Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm.
Both practices are held at the YMCA on Hespeler Road.
We also visit and practice with some of the larger clubs in Toronto and area to augment our training.
